Feast of the Presentation of the Lord

What is the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord and how can I celebrate this day with my family? 

First, let's learn more about the Feast! This video re-enacts the following Scripture reading: 

Luke 2:22-35

 

Simeon said that the child Jesus would be the light of the world and the salvation of mankind. On this feast day, we remember Jesus' presentation in the temple. On this day, also known as Candlemas, we bless candles used in prayer. Interestingly, candles/fire is also associated with purification, an idea found in Scripture. The light of Christ is among us, penetrating the darkness.
