Session 10: The Paschal Mystery
The Paschal Mystery is Christ’s work of redemption through his suffering, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension.
As Catholics we participate in the Paschal Mystery through experiencing the Sacraments. In this lesson we are going to think about The Paschal Mystery.
The Paschal Mystery describes Jesus’ work in the world to redeem us, or save us from the power of sin
and death. Through The Paschal Mystery, Jesus broke the power of evil in the world! This does not
mean that evil doesn’t exist in the world, but rather, it means that evil does not have the final say in the
world. This is the Good News, that because of Jesus’ sacrifice death is not the end for us, but
it is the beginning of a new life forever with God!
