Session 5: Tools of Prayer: The Rosary
In this lesson we will learn about a special way that Catholics pray called The Rosary. There are videos teaching about how to say The Rosary and videos to help children memorize the prayers of The Rosary. The lesson ends with an optional craft to make a Rosary. The only assignment in this lesson is to help your children memorize the prayers of The Rosary.
Jesus’ mother Mary, gave a special prayer to Saint Dominic to share with the world called The Rosary.
We pray this prayer to stay close to Jesus and remember his life.
*Note to Parents: If you teach your children how to say The Rosary at a young age, they will be more
likely to say it regularly as they grow older. A family Rosary tradition is difficult at first when the kids are
young, but it becomes such a blessing to be able to pray that way as a family through the teenage years
and beyond. The Rosary is a Spiritual weapon and a tool that draws us closer to God. It is a powerful
tool to keep families close.
