Lev. 6, Session 2: St. Francis of Assisi Reflected God's Care For Creation

Because of God's great love for us and for all of creation, Jesus explains that we don’t have to worry

about anything. God takes care of creation, and through our actions, we can help Him, just like many

of the saints did. The Communion of Saints is a community, like a family. It is made up of all of us on

earth, and all of those who have lived before us, who are now with God. This community is made up

of many people who have lived out the Catholic social teaching of Care for Creation. St. Francis of

Assisi was one of these saints. In fact, he is called the patron saint of ecology. Watch this brief video

that tells about his life.

God loves creation and he wants us to care for it. In this Scripture reading, God

explains how he takes care of all of creation, especially humans.

in the Bible, read Matthew 6:26.

In this next video, Mrs. Christie will read the scripture aloud and follow up with stories about St. Francis.

Here is a coloring page that you can complete as you listen to the stories.
