Session 2: Called to Trust God Like the Saints

God loves us and takes care of us. We don’t have to worry, but instead we must rely on Him.

We are called to be Saints- that means- we are called to love God above all things.

All our actions and decisions should reflect that love. It also means that you share that

love with everyone and you share the Good News of Jesus.

Discussion Questions:

What does trusting God mean?

We are coming up on a holiday called All Saints Day. On that day Catholics remember

the heroes of our church, the Saints, who loved God and lived a holy life, by always trying to

obey God. A holy life is a life that teaches others what God’s love is like.

Let's learn more about what it means to be a Saint!

Jesus’ Mother Mary is the greatest Saint, because her trust in God was perfect.

She is called the Mother of God because she is Jesus’s mother. Let's learn more about how

God wants us to trust Him and how Mary trusted God perfectly by listening to scripture

readings in the Bible.  Play the video for some help from Mrs. Christie in the OLS Faith Formation

Office.

Parent Reference Links to Lectio Divina Scripture Passages is below. You have to scroll

down in the chapter to the verse numbers.

Mt. 6:25-32

Luke 1:26-38

Parent Note: Gabriel’s visit to Mary is called The Annunciation because he is announcing that she

will be the Mother of the Son of God. The Feast of the Annunciation is March 25.

 Assignment:

Linked is a coloring page of The angel Gabriel's visit to Mary for you child to color. Please print it out and

on the top of the coloring page, have your child complete this sentence: "I trust God when I ... "

Take a photo of your child' picture and attach it your Level 2 Google Classroom.

Let's finish the lesson by hearing a story about Mary's life, and saying the "Hail Mary" prayer.
