Session 1: Prayer, the Blessed Mother and All Saints Day

WHAT IS PRAYER?

God loves us and wants us to rely on Him because He is our Heavenly Father who created us. Prayer is how we talk to and with God. Let's learn a simple way to pray, called the "Five Finger Prayer."

Five Finger Prayer Activity:

Print this Five Finger Prayer Worksheet and hang it in your home, to practice this prayer daily.

Session 2 Assignment: What do you pray for? Trace your hand on a piece of paper and write who and what you are praying for on each finger. Title your paper: My Five Finger Prayer. Submit your work to your Google Classroom, or drop off at the Faith Formation Office. Make sure you include your first and last name.

Learn About Mary, the Queen of All Saints

November 1st is All Saints Day. On this day we remember all the role models of our faith, who trusted God and tried to stay close to Him. Mary, the Blessed Mother of Jesus, is the Queen of all Saints. Listen to a story about Mary, and how we ask her to pray for us through a prayer called the "Hail Mary." Memorize the "Hail Mary" prayer by practicing it.

Learn About All Saints Day
There are many saints! The saints are people of great faith that our Church has declared are in the presence of God in Heaven. They are Christian role models for us, and they continue to pray for us in Heaven. Catholics have an official holiday to celebrate the lives of the Saints, called "All Saints Day." The following video tells a little bit about it.

Every year in October or early November, our parish has a Saint Parade during Mass around the time of All Saints Day. Students are invited to dress up as a Saint and participate! Please check the parish bulletin located on the parish website here for date/time of this year's Saint Parade. Here is a link to a past Saint Parade video  -
