Information for New Level 1 Students

August 17, 2020

Dear Families of Students Entering Level 1,

This information is for families registering their first graders for religious education for the first time. In some cases, you are a new family to our parish. If so, welcome! Please register your family in the parish rectory office as well if you have not already done so. Check out our parish website here.

For Level 1 registration,  a copy of your child's baptismal certificate is needed for our records, (if he/she was not baptized at Our Lady of the Snow). You can email that to me. My contact information is here. To register online go here. We can set up an appointment to meet in person if you would like.

The first grade sessions are onsite once per month for one hour on a Sunday morning, (6 sessions). Students receive First Eucharist and First Reconciliation in Level 2. Students are required to attend classes for two years in preparation for these sacraments. I am in the process of converting Level 1 onsite lessons to virtual only, to give parents that option. Lessons will be posted in the Level 1 section on our virtual classroom. Our parish is currently holding onsite Masses and you are encouraged to attend with your family if you feel comfortable doing so. There is more information about social distancing protocols at Mass on our parish website.

Please join the new Remind App group for Level 1: 2020-2021 school year. The codes are listed by Levels at the link here. This is important because it's the primary, and quickest, way I will communicate with families. Messages go right into the App in my phone.

Sincerely,

Loren Christie

Director, OLS Faith Formation
